This has got so much easier for single mums now. When it’s difficult to get a babysitter, you don’t want to waste those precious hours on a blind date that turns out to be a complete loser.

If the date was dire I could then tell a ‘white lie’ and say it was my babysitter calling and I had to leave (it saved climbing out of the ladies’ loo window)!
