Help!

I don't know whether to give the authorities my babys fathers name. He is a really nasty character and as much as I'd like him to be chased for child maintenence I am frightened that this will give him rights. Help!

Whether you go after the money or not, it will not effect his rights anymore.

My advise is what ever you do, do NOT put his name on the birth certificate. He can only get parental responsiblity by 1. being married to you, 2. being on the birth certificate, 3. court order

But he can get the right to see your child without this.

And sadly agressive behavour and voilence towards you doesn't always stop access but only means that INITIALLY they have to have someone else there. But this does seem to differ depending on which country your in

Would being chased for money make him more likely to go after these rights? If you get working tax credits it probably wont make any difference to what you get in your pocket at the end of the month.

I'm not saying do or don't just thinking about it, you can contact the CSA at any point but once its started you can't stop it.
