hello to you all

im new to this site and was wondering if there are any mums of twins out there - i have looked at the posts and its seems there are not unless i am looking in the wrong place? i'd still like to chat to you all non-multiple mums but i guess there are differences when you are a mum of twins so it'd be really great to find another!

hope to chat soon

Hi Sal

I had a scan yesterday and am to become a single mum of twins! Had only just got my head round being pregnant and a single mum, now there are two on the way!

How old are your twins? Are they identical?

Am hoping it's just the hormones that are making me so weepy as I am excited really!!!! Hope you can convince me that being a single mum of twins is not all the doom and gloom my friends seem to think it will be.

Hi ladies,

Firstly congratulations :)

My post is a little late it seems, but I am a single mum of 6month old girls called Annabelle and lauren... Do you know what you are having yet? My name is Jolene and I'm 27.

We've been on our own from the beginning, pregnancy is quite hard on your own, especially as I went from a 28inch waist to a 56inch one and put 5stone (but don't fret, I'm finally 4stone lighter now)!! So it wasn't too easy getting about! And I wont lie to you, the first couple of months of having no one to help with the babies is very hard, mums of singletons do not understand and some think it's just the same as having 2kids of different ages, but it's not, they both need your sole attention and both at the same time!! But, once you get past those initial couple of months, it starts to get a lot easier and without knowing it, you become a Supermum!! capable of anything, and seeing those 2 little faces looking up at you, adoring you, is worth everything in the world! As I said mine are 6months now and we're doing just fine, they brighten my life everyday!! I do suggest thinking about a specific routine though, just so you know where you are! I started the girls routine at 8weeks, and it adapts as they grow, but they do everything, everyday at the same time, nap, eat etc and the chaos has completely disappeared... plus they sleep from 6.30pm til 7.15 ever night!!! Don't listen to people who say certain thhings are not possible,  I breastfed both babies for 3months, I go out every single afternoon with the girls, they sleep in the same room..... And if you're a first time mum like me, you have the added benefit of not knowing what it's like to look after 1 baby, so 2 isn't so scary!! :)

Please feel free to ask any questions you like or are worried about, when you think of managing with 2 on your own.

And a great site to belong to is twinsonline, it's a great forum to get advice :)

xx
