The father doesn't care
Reply Quote
Hi,
I've just joyned the group and I really need some help.
I live and work in London but I'm italian.
I've had my baby four months ago and I'm really worried about my financial situation.
When I got pregnant my boyfriend ask me to have an abortion to save our relationship. I refused then He left me telling He didn't love me anymore.
I'm on maternity leave now and am living in my friend's flat but she asked me to move out and I don't have enough money to pay a rent and a nursery for when I have to go back to work.
My ex boyfriend doesn't work and doesn't want to help me.
Can I ask him or his family a financial support?
Can I pretend He takes care of his daughter?
What can I do?
Please help me!

Hi,

Ok, I'm not sure how it works if you are still an Italian national.

If you have British citizen status, you can go to the CSA (child support agency) fill in paperwork and make a claim on the father to pay support to the child. You can also claim child and working tax credit to pay for child care. Get in touch with the local citizen advice bureau (cab), ask them about if there are criss loans availible to help set you up with a new home or about getting council accomidation for you and your baby.

If you are still an Italian citizen still talk to your local CAB they will be able to give you advice on what is possible.

I hope this helps, I know things are hard right now, but you will find a way to make this work for you and your daughter. Please come back and tell us what happens.

Big hug
