07-11-2006, 12:17 PM JBates Joined on 07-11-2006 Posts 2 Advice Needed - How could a baby really effect my career.. Hi I am in need of some advice. I am pregnant, unexpectedly and am really unsure about what to do. My main reason for not having a baby is that my career is very important to me and I am worried about the effects. I have worked so hard over the years to get where I am now and I just can't imagine the effect it will have on me. I work freelance - so am self employed and would love to hear from anyone who has had similar experiences who could perhaps share how they coped. One part of me is thinking it is impossible to have a successful career and have a child - another part of me is thinking 'But people do!' Any help is extremely appreciated julia    Report
